Learn German Or Russian

Russian is a living language as german is a dying one- the numbers are going down for german whereas they go up for russian. the greatest proponent of this increase isn't vladimir putin or even president of kazakhstan, nursultan nazerbaev.. I've heard that russian is a much harder language to learn and not as widely spoken in europe than german is. tbh i am more interested in learning russian than german but since german is closer to. Best answer: if i were you, i would go with german. german is a much easier language to learn, for one thing. especially since english is a germanic language, it will be much easier to pick up, you just have to basically learn new words and how to conjugate verbs..

Best answer: for an english speaker, german is easier to learn and russian is much more difficult. 1) russian: first of all, you need to learn the alphabet which contains 33 letters and it uses the cyrillic alphabet. second, the pronunciation is different from english and the letter o becomes a if it is not accentuated or stressed.. I started learning german two years before russian...and now i think that my knowlege of german grammar is helping me a lot with russian! i think that russian is harder due to the amount of cases and verb aspect, but sentence structure is most similar to english.. Usefulness. if you want to learn a language with a large number of speakers and which is spoken in many countries, the ones to choose in order of 'usefulness' are: english, french, spanish, russian, arabic, chinese (mandarin), german, japanese, portuguese and hindi/urdu..
